Recruit Sustainment Program

NEXT THREE DRILL DATES FOR RTB WARRIORS

Welcome to the Recruit Training Company's information page. The purpose of the
Recruit Sustainment Program is to prepare new enlistees of the Montana Army
National Guard for the rigor of Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual
Training. The time with the RTC will prepare Soldiers to be trained tactically, technically, mentally and physically. Once a Soldier has completed his or her time with the RTC, they will have a leg up on the competition at their Basic Combat Training Site. This page will provide RTC location information, Basic Training information, and
other useful information that a new Montana Army National Guard Soldier may need.

  • RED PHASE
  • WHITE PHASE
  • BLUE PHASE
  • GREEN PHASE (SPLIT OPTION ONLY)
  • GOLD PHASE

RED PHASE

This phase starts on the 1st Drill after the Soldier's enlistment.

The Red Phase is an intense 2 days that is intended to introduce all training possible
to get a Soldier in the transition mode from civilian life to life as a Soldier in the Montana Army National Guard. It includes military structure, drill and ceremony, customs and courtesies, rank structure and physical training.

WHITE PHASE

This phase starts on the Soldier's 2nd drill and continues each drill thereafter until it is time to ship to Basic Combat Training, or Advanced Individual Training if the Soldier is
a Split Option.

White Phase is a continuation of Red Phase plus the Soldier will start learning Common Tasks associated with Soldiering. New information will also be implemented that is important to life as a Army National Guard member. This includes financial readiness, community structure, awareness of military life and responsibilities, team work, uniform wear, peer pressure, time management, as well as proper diet and hydration.

BLUE PHASE

Blue phase of the RSP is the final drill before shipping to Basic Combat Training, or Advanced Individual Training if the Soldier is a Split Option.

This phase is intended to have the Soldier prepared to ship off to BCT and/or AIT. It includes finalization of all administrative work as well as final physical training preparation that will allow the Soldier to succeed at Basic Combat Training and/or Advanced Individual Training.

GREEN PHASE

This phase consists of those Soldiers that had a break between Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training.

In the Green Phase Soldiers will assist the Cadre in the training of newly assigned Warriors in the RSP. They continue to hone the skills developed in Basic Combat Training and prepare for the second part of Initial Duty Training. In the final drill before Advanced Individual Training they will return to Blue Phase in order to make sure all documents are prepared for AIT, leading to a successful venture.

GOLD PHASE

Gold Phase is the means to the end for RSP Soldiers. The goal that all enlistees in the Montana Army National Guard strive to achieve is on the first drill after becoming MOS qualified. MOSQ Soldiers who return from AIT perform one final drill for Battle Hand-Off to their assigned unit.
