Life as a JAG Officer

The Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corp was established by President George Washington not only to protect rights and
laws, but also to defend and advise the Soldiers in the military. Today you have the opportunity to become a part of the
oldest law firm in the United States by becoming a JAG Officer in the Montana Army National Guard. By being mentored
from a seasoned JAG Officer you will be trained to be an effective member of not only our team, but a civilian law team as
well.

Benefits of Being a JAG

Just like any position in the Montana Army National Guard you will be eligible for several benefits including Life Insurance through Soldiers Group Life Insurance, the TSP (Thrift Savings Plan) retirement plan, VA Homeloans, Drill Pay, and others.

Requirements to Becoming a JAG

Of course just like any other profession, there are many avenues you can take. Becoming a JAG Officer in the Montana
Army National Guard is no different. You have the option to join the Guard as a seasoned attorney or you can join the Guard
as an enlisted member and let the Guard pay your way to becoming a JAG. To become a JAG as a practicing attorney you
must meet the following requirements:
