ELIGIBILITY
So you want to join the Montana Army National Guard. Do you have what it takes to become a member of Montana's elite military organization? This page will provide you some information to help you determine if you are eligible.
Non-Prior Military
Age
-Currently between 17 and 42 years of age without prior military service.
Education
-Be a high school junior, senior, graduate, or GED minimum.
Physical Condition
-Must be able to meet certain height and weight standards.
Moral
-Meet moral requirements defined by the Montana Army National Guard.
Mental
-Obtain a qualifying score on the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Test. You may have taken it in high school. Date of test must be within a 5 year window.Take a look at your occupation options in the Montana Army National

Prior Military Service
Age
-Depends on years of service.
Education
-Meet standards defined by the Montana Army National Guard.
Medical
-Pass Army physical.
Individuals with prior military service can enlist and retain rank of separation in most cases. All of the active or reserve time counts for pay, promotions, and retirement.
