Life Insurance

There are a few options for Soldiers to receive life insurance for themselves and their family. The Servicemembers' Group
Life Insurance (SGLI) is a low-cost option that covers Soldiers 24/7 whether they are on active drilling status or not. Coverage can go up to $400,000 for the Soldier.

The Family Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (FSGLI) is available to the spouses and dependent children of Soldiers covered under SGLI. Coverage for FSGLI can go up to $100,000 for both the spouses and dependent children. The National Guard also offers State Sponsored Life Insurance for a nominal monthly fee. Visit their website to get more information: www.ssli.org.

Drill Pay

Soldiers in the Montana Army National Guard receive drill pay for their weekend duties. The pay depends on the rank of the individual. You can view the military drill pay chart by scrolling down in this link: 2012 Military Pay Tables

Health Insurance

As a member of the Montana Army National Guard you are eligible to receive low cost health insurance from TRICARE RESERVE SELECT. The monthly premiums for individual Soldiers in 2012 are $54.35 and $192.89 for family coverage.
This is an opportunity for Soldiers to keep their health care costs down when receiving treatment from a civilian doctor.
